So, today is the 50th Anniversary of the James Bond series. Can you believe it? It actually feels longer, since James Bond is such a part of human culture at this point. What’s funny is that I’ve never really been a huge fan of Bond or his films. I know that sounds sacrilegious or something like that, and I have friends who practically worship him and own ALL OF HIS MOVIES. Can I say this honestly here without being chastised, and I’m sure I should be? I’ve only seen six Bond films. Holy shit, right! I’ve seen ‘From Russia With Love’, ‘Casino Royale’ (’67), ‘The World is Not Enough’, ‘Die Another Day’, ‘Casino Royale (’06) and ‘Quantum of Solace’. That’s embarrassing isn’t it? I have READ the Ian Fleming novel for ‘Casino Royale’ though, so that counts for something, right? Well, in honor of this legendary day, what are your plans? Are you embracing Bond today? What is your favorite Bond movie? Who is your favorite Bond? Have you read any of the novels? I, at one time, had planned on reading them all, in order…but my disappointment with ‘Casino Royale’ dampened their appeal and I haven’t touched one since. I really should, for the novelty of it all.
