- To be completely honest, the trailer makes the movie looking pretty decent and I used to think that this one would suck, but I think I started looking to this one as a possible critical "success". But... most trailers make movies look better than they really are! Here's Captain America: The First Avenger new movie trailer:
- Recently, it was reported that the role of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice & Zombies was offered to Emma Stone (Easy A), but it seems that she passed on the project. According to Deadline, "Emma Stone passed on the heroine role in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Lionsgate's adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith novel that mixes the 1813 Jane Austen classic with a legion of bloodthirsty zombies. While talent gets offered and passes on movies every day, Internet reports now trumpet offers, even if the journalists have no idea whether the actor is at all interested in doing the movie. In this case, an offer was made but it never got to the negotiation stage, I'm told". There were a lot of talented acting around this project, such as Natalie Portman (Black Swan), Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), Mia Wasikowska (Alice In Wonderland), Tilda Swinton (Michael Clayton), among others. Portman passed on the role, but she stills executive producer.
- With such a great amount of "No"'s, I started asking myself: "Is this project THAT bad?". Thank God she didn't take the role, people shouldn't mix a BIG CLASSIC like Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice with zombies... it's just wrong!
- David O. Russell (The Fighter), will adapt Matthew Quick novel The Silver Linings Playbook, the story of a former teacher moves back in with his mother and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife, after spending four years in a mental institution. Mark Wahlberg (The Departed) will play the teacher (Pat Peoples) and Robert DeNiro is rumored to be part of the cast too. Now, O. Russell seems to be searching the "wife", by testing a big couple of actresses after being in talks with Angelina Jolie (who passed on the project). Elizabeth Banks (Zack and Miri Make a Porno), Kirsten Dunst (Melancholia), Blake Lively (The Town), Rooney Mara (The Social Network), Rachel McAdams (Midnight In Paris), Andrea Riseborough (Happy-Go-Lucky), Olivia Wilde (TRON: Legacy) and Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) are the known names that are testing for the role. In my opinion, Mara, Lively and Lawrence look too young to be Wahlberg's wife and I would choose Banks for the role.
- Isn't it strange that O. Russell isn't testing actresses he said he would love to work with in his future projects? I'm talking about Amy Adams and Scarlett Johansson, of course. In my opinion, both would be better choices for the role, but maybe their schedules make this project impossible to them.
