Johnny Depp is a lizard named "Rango"; "The Avengers" will be filmed in New Mexico; Chicago Film Critics Association Awards nominees and winners;

  • It seems that Johnny Depp will "appear" as a lizard next March... I mean, he will give his voice to a lizard in a movie named Rango, directed by Gore Verbinski (The Pirates of the Caribbean's three first installements). The way Depp's voice was captured was really interesting, it was a way that needs that actors playing the characters (on most animated feature, the animators are used as reference for character's movements, but in this one, the actors themselves are the references - characters sound and move like the actor, which make it a more natural acting experience, giving expressivity to Rango's characters!). Just watch it:

  • According to Collider "Marvel Studios plans to shoot much of The Avengers in Albuquerque Studios in New Mexico, taking advantage of the state’s 25% tax rebate for film and TV productions. The rebate has lured over 150 projects to the “Land of Enchantment,” including Breaking Bad, True Grit, and Marvel’s Thor. According to Variety, The Avengers is the largest production to shoot in New Mexico to date. Secondary locations for the 3D production include New York and Michigan."
    The Avengers will star Robert Downey Jr. (as Iron Man), Mark Ruffalo (as Hulk), Samuel L. Jackson (as Nick Fury), Chris Evans (as Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (as Thor), Scarlett Johansson (as Black Widow) and Jeremy Renner (as Hawkeye) and is set for a May 4, 2012, release.
    Aren't you thinking "Is it possible that this movie will rule with so many characters?"??? Yes, I have my doubts about this one too... Let's wait and see... Marvel have been done some good comic movies like Spider-Man franchise, The Incredible Hulk and the two Iron Man movies, but it seems to have potential to be such a messy movie... I don't know...

    Just one more word: Hailee Steinfeld shouldn't be the winner of so many critics' prizes in the way that I bet that Jacki Weaver will win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar and this kid is getting all the awards and I'm afraid she steals Weaver's worthy Oscar (Haven't you already seen Weaver's performance in Animal Kingdom? The Devil looks like Heidi after seeing Weaver's performance as a real "monster-mum"!).
